COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital is honoring its longest-serving employee as the hospital celebrates its 85th anniversary.
Maryanna Cox, CST, began her health care career at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital over 47 years ago in September 1976 after completing LPN school.
ProMedica posted on its Facebook page that shortly after beginning her career, Cox transferred to the surgery department as a surgery technician and fell in love with the environment, staff and quick-paced job. She never left.
The most notable change in the years Maryanna has worked in health care is the stay of patients after surgery. “When I first started in surgery, everything was done with large incisions and long hospital stays. Patients didn’t go home the same day except for some procedures like GI Endoscopies. Even cataract surgery required an overnight stay!”
Congratulations to Maryanna Cox for being part of the Coldwater Regional Hospital for 47 years.
