COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Appointments to seven county boards were approved by the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their meeting on Tuesday.
The Commissioners split on an appointment to fill an expiring position on the Branch County Road Commission.
On a 3-2 vote, the Commissioners appointed Randy Travelbee to the six year term on the board over current board member Gary Malcolm.
Commissioners Leonard Kolcz, Jon Houtz and Terri Norris voted for Travelbee while Tom Mathew and Randall Hazelbaker voted for Malcolm.
In addition, Michael Odren and John Van Dam were appointed to three year terms on the Airport Board, William “Butch” Wilber was appointed to a four year term on the Veterans Affairs Board while Cheryl Downs was named to the Board of Public Works for three years.
In addition, Susie Brooks will fill an expiring position on the Library Board for four years.
Anita Hoyt and Marilyn Johnson were named to the Planning Commission. They will serve three year terms as will Bing Johnson who was named to the Mental Health Board.
