KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – A man accused of murder in St. Joseph County is officially charged with another murder in Kalamazoo County.
32-year-old Zachary Patten was formally charged with open murder, felony firearm and concealed weapon charges on Thursday in Kalamazoo County District Court in connection with the death of Graciela Portillo-Esparza.
Police say Patten turned himself in to police in South Bend, Indiana on July 21st, after allegedly killing 29-year-old Shane Richardson in St. Joseph County’s Florence Township and Portillo-Esparza in Kalamazoo the night before.
He was charged for the death of Richardson in St. Joseph County District Court last week.
