COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A corrections officer at the Lakeland Correctional Facility was recently arrested by the Michigan State Police for being in alleged possession of illegal drugs.
The State Police at Marshall say they were requested by the Michigan Department of Corrections on June 12 for assistance with an investigation.
The Corrections Officer, identified as 43-year-old Mark Everett Goodlock, was contacted before the start of his shift at the Lakeland correctional facility.
A subsequent search led to his arrest for felony possession of a controlled substance. Goodlock was lodged at the Branch County jail.
He eventually posted a bond and was released but Goodlock was arrested again on June 21 for an alleged violation of his bond conditions. The matter is still under investigation.
Goodlock’s case has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court where he is scheduled to appear for a July 15 pre-trial conference.
