ATHENS, MI (WTVB) – A number of area road construction projects are scheduled to start next week which will require drivers to plan ahead and be patient.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says M-66 in Calhoun County will be totally closed from Q Drive South to 3 1/2 Mile Road starting on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 a.m..
Recommended detour routes include M-60, M-311 and I-94. This construction project is slated to be completed October 25.
Meanwhile, MDOT will begin resurfacing more than 19 miles of three St. Joseph County highways on Tuesday, July 9.
MDOT is investing $2.5 million for work on U.S. 131 from Dickinson Road in Constantine to Garber Road in White Pigeon, M-60 from Hoffman Road in Three Rivers to Plainfield Drive in Mendon, and M-86 from South Main Street in Three Rivers to West Main Street in Centreville.
Drivers should be aware of single lane closures and flaggers in the construction areas. The project is scheduled to be finished by September 17.
