COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Interviews will be held at the end of the month with six candidates who have made the first cut in their bid to replace Bud Norman as Branch County Administrators.
After a closed door session Thursday, the Branch County Board of Commissioners voted to select the six from a total of 38 candidates that applied. The candidates to be interviewed by the board July 30 and 31 are:
-Adam Kline, former Oakland Township manager
-Jessica Miller, assistant St. Joseph County administrator
-John Morrell, administrative manager, Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater
-Robert Reinshuttle, assistant Manatee County administrator, Florida
-Jeffrey Thornton, Caledonia village manager
-Frank Walsh, Meridian Township manager
Each candidate will be interviewed for 50 minutes, with the first three from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on July 30 and the other three from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. July 31. It’s expected the top one to three candidates will be brought back for a final discussion-style interview.
In addition to a change in the administrative office, there could be a big change on the Board of Commissioners for 2025. Three of the current five commissioners face opposition in the August 6 primary, while commissioner Tom Matthew is running for the 35th District State House seat.
Norman announced his retirement in January after serving as administrator/controller for over 18 years.
