A bid of over $39,000 for this years sidewalk maintenance program was approved by the Coldwater City Council on Monday night.
Engineer Sarah Fronczak said the bid from Carpenter Creations was the only one submitted. She said the work will fill in the gaps along sidewalks on Abbott, Van and Morse Streets in front of Jefferson Elementary School, immediately east of Pansophia Academy and along Morse from the Branch IArea Careers Center south to Adapt. Work is scheduled to take place between August 1 and October 1, 2017.
There was also discussion by the City Council regarding the Waterworks Park project – reiterating the fact that the new prohibitions on feeding the ducks and parking next to the river bank were put in place at the recommendation of the local Conservation District for the benefit of all and it was not a case of government overreach, as has been speculated in social media.
