COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There will be a changing of the guard in Branch County government when 2025 arrives.
Branch County Department of Veterans Affairs Director Charles Scott has informed the county he intends to retire at the end of the year.
County Administrator Bud Norman and Sheriff John Pollack will also be retiring on December 31, 2024.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners brought forward a request from Scott during their work session on Thursday to start the process of finding his successor.
Commissioner Jon Houtz said posting the position was part of the request.
County Administrator Bud Norman said the more time for a transition, the better.
The County Commissioners are expected to take formal action during their regular meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
