COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After many years of being sponsored by the Coldwater Rocket Football organization, 7th and 8th Grade football for Legg Middle School students will be school-supported for the first time this school year.
In preparation for the upcoming season, there will be a mini-camp coming up on July 31 and August 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the practice field just north of Coldwater High School. Students will get an opportunity to meet the new middle school coaches and receive an introduction to the Cardinal football program.
Since football is now a school-sponsored sport at LMS, 7th and 8th Grade students who want to play will need to have a physical on file, dated April 15, 2017 or later, in the High School Athletic Office by the start of practice on August 21.
Practices will run after school from 3:00-5:00 p.m. starting on August 21, the day before classes begin. The first middle school football games will be played Wednesday, September 6 at Jackson Parkside.
