QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Ground was officially broken on Thursday in Quincy for a new 8,000 square foot Parrish Excavating building which will be constructed on Cole Street in the Quincy Industrial Park just west of the Quincy Village offices.
Parrish Excavating has been operating since 1972 in Quincy.
Village Manager Eric Zuzga says the construction of the Parrish building was 22 years in the making after the village bought the land in 1995. He said it was the last real lot in the park that is undeveloped.
Brad Parrish said they considered other places but added that Quincy was home.
The business has been housed on the family’s property on U.S. 12 at Maple Road since 1979. Parrish Excavating has 21 employees and they hope to add three more workers with the new building which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
