COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man who was originally charged with 14 counts for alleged crimes that involved stalking, indecent exposure and the illegal use of computers entered guilty pleas to two of the charges on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
A court spokesperson says 34-year-old Zachery James Toth entered guilty pleas to felony charges of using a computer to commit a crime and aggravated stalking.
In exchange for his guilty pleas, prosecutors dismissed the other 12 counts against Toth. He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 11.
A conviction for aggravated stalking in Michigan carries a maximum prison sentence of five years. If the victim is less than 18 years old and the defendant is at least five years older than the victim, the maximum prison sentence increases to ten years.
Three cases were filed against Toth following a Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigation.
According to Branch County court documents, Toth was accused by Branch County authorities of using his Facebook account to send numerous sexually explicit and graphic videos to three females.
