COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Early voting for the August 6 Primary ended on Sunday across the State of Michigan.
Branch County residents who wanted to cast an early ballot for the Primary could have done so at the Dearth Community Center in Coldwater.
Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak said there were 487 ballots cast for the Primary between July 27 and Sunday which was higher than the 316 cast for the Presidential Primary last February.
Under terms of Proposal Two that was passed in 2022, registered voters in Michigan have the right to cast a ballot early and in person at an early voting site from the second Saturday before an election until the Sunday before the election.
Township and city clerks around Branch County signed an agreement in September of 2023 to conduct early voting at the Dearth Community Center for all federal and statewide elections.
Early voting for the General Election will be from Saturday, October 26 through Sunday, November 3.
