BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has announced that a brief ribbon cutting ceremony for Memorial Park in Downtown Bronson will take place next Friday, July 21 at 5:30 p.m. during the 48th Annual Bronson Polish Festival.
The city will recognize generous supporters and celebrate the completion of the project.
A Crowdfunding project raised nearly $21,000 for the final phase of the project which far surpassed the goal of $12,500.
That was good enough for Bronson to get a matching grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Public Spaces Community Places program.
The City has redeveloped the park in honor of longtime Mayor Thomas Rissman.
The first two phases included the relocation of the gazebo and the installation of a brick paved walk way. The final phase involved landscaping and irrigation improvements.
