COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio through late Wednesday night.
The watch includes Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale and St. Joseph Counties in Michigan and Steuben County in northeast Indiana.
Forecasters say one or more rounds of thunderstorms are expected into late Wednesday night along and north of U.S. 30. Some locations could see one to two inches of rain through Wednesday afternoon with additional heavy rainfall likely Wednesday night. Locally higher amounts will be possible.
Even though water has started to recede in some areas, high water levels and saturated ground conditions will quickly lead to renewed flooding and life threatening situations.
