LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Senate recently passed a bill submitted by State Senator Mike Shirkey which allows the Community Health Center of Branch County to convert to a non-profit hospital.
The bill will facilitate the transition of the hospital to Promedica of Toledo, which is on track to be completed around the first of the year.
Branch County Administrator Bud Norman says the goal is to have the Governor’s signature on the by November.
This will delay the integration to ProMedica from their original date of October 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018.
Norman says the County Commissioners will review the transition or sale this fall at one of their meetings.
