COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Noon Rotary Club has awarded $20,000 to more than a dozen organizations and projects. The funds announced at Tuesday’s Rotary meeting come from the club’s long time annual Rotary Show, with proceeds from this year’s event in February at the Tibbits Opera House totaling nearly $30,000.
The recently opened City of Coldwater splash park received $5,000, part of the park’s total $75,000 club commitment, which will be finalized in 2020. Rotary International’s Haiti Nursing Project was given $4,000 while the Tibbits Opera House received $3,000 to pay for a new boiler system.
$2,500 goes to the Branch Area Food Pantry, which received the same amount from the Club in 2016.
The Passing of the Gavel took place Tuesday as Mike Iveson passed the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club presidency for the upcoming year to Craig Lynch, a 12-year member of the club.
