COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners are scheduled to discuss funding for the Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center on Thursday morning.
It was revealed earlier this summer that the operation of the pool was in the red by over $300,000 per year.
Coldwater Community Schools officials were working with the City of Coldwater and others to find new ways to fund the Aquatic Center.
According to the Commissioner’s Monthly Report that was put together by Administrator Bud Norman, the Commissioners are scheduled to discuss a request for funding in return for reduced or flat rates for County residents for the pool as well as for City of Coldwater recreation programs and hall rentals.
The late Dr. Brown donated money for the construction of the aquatic center on Western Avenue. It is owned by the City of Coldwater, with operation and maintenance handled by the school district.

I already fund it with city and school taxes and I don’t need to add my county taxes to the pool too! Let that thing sink!
