BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s boys cross country team had the top two finishers and three out of the first four runners across the finish line on Wednesday as they defeated Branch County rival Bronson 28-29.
Coldwater’s Drew Vanderpuyl edged teammate Luke Aerts at the line. They each had a time of 18:59.85.
Bronson’s Adam Franks (19:40.83) was third while Coldwater’s Sebastian Hernandez (20:15.93) was fourth.

Bronson won the girls race over Coldwater 21-34. Bronson’s Ava Hathaway finished first in a time of 19:40 while her teammate Ashlynn Harris (20:26) was second. Alonna Goodsell (25:41) was fifth for the Vikings while Lydia Wells (25:47) was sixth and Abbi Ferry (26:04) was seventh.
The Cardinals were led by freshman Gwen Eby (22:55) who finished third and sophomore Annika Johnson (24:48) who finished fourth. Also scoring for the Cardinals were sophomore Miyah Moore, junior Olivia Golematis and senior Elizabeth Torres-Ojeda.
