COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater has been looking to become a Michigan Main Street Community for about a year and Coldwater City Economic Development Assistant Audrey Tappenden provided an update during Wednesday’s Downtown Development Authority meeting.
It’s hoped the Main Street program can be used for downtown Coldwater.
Tappenden said part of the application would include draft resolutions of support from the City Council and the D.D.A. as well as other letters of support from the community.
The proposed Main Street area would generally cover the area bordered by Pierson, Washington, Jefferson and Taylor.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation awards Main Street grants that aim to support small local businesses.
