COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Charges are expected to be filed against a man who got into a confrontation with Coldwater Police officers and firefighters Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of the Old Mill Race Apartments.
First responders from the Coldwater Fire Department were dispatched just after 2:00 p.m. when the man was reported to be passed out in a parked car.
Coldwater Police and the Michigan State Police had to be called when the man was revived and got angry with the firefighters.
A taser and pepper spray had to be used by Coldwater Police Officer Lou Eastmead. The wind blew the pepper spray back into Eastmead’s face and his eyes had to be cleared with a saline solution at the scene.
The suspect was being held without bond pending a Branch County District Court arraignment on six counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer and a charge of operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content.
