BURR OAK, MI (WTVB) -A 33-year-old man was captured Friday night in Burr Oak after leading police on a low speed pursuit.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says they tried to pull the man’s Pontiac over for a license plate violation.
They think he was driving a car that was involved in some high-speed reckless driving with two other vehicles in the Sturgis area earlier in the day.
When deputies attempted to block the vehicle with another car, the man reportedly drove around the obstruction and floored it.
He was taken into custody after surrendering at a residence on Park Street.
It was later discovered he was wanted on outstanding warrants. He also didn’t have a license and the vehicle wasn’t insured.
