COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A study into wages and job classifications for Branch County employees will apparently wait until after the new County Administrator takes office on January 1, 2025.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners were told by County Administrator Bud Norman during Thursday’s work session that the last studies took place in 1982 and again in 2000.
Some departments have made reclassification requests several times in the past. Commission Chair Tim Stoll felt the issue should be looked at.
But a look into job descriptions was unnecessary.
Stoll said now was not the time to conduct the study.
The Commissioners gave Norman the go ahead in June to obtain Request For Proposals for a County Wage and Reclassification study.
A previous quote that was received a few years ago said it was going to cost roughly $60,000 to $120,000.
After further discussion, no action was taken by Commissioners on Thursday.
