LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Public Service Commission has scheduled a three hour virtual public hearing for October 3 to take comment relating to major electric transmission upgrades proposed by Michigan Electric Transmission Company which includes the Helix to Hiple Project in Branch County.
The public hearing will be that evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m..

METC has applied for approval of two certificates of public convenience and necessity for two new electric transmission lines in the central and southern Lower Peninsula. One is the Helix to Hiple project which is a 55-mile, 345 kV double circuit line between substations in Calhoun and Branch counties. In addition, METC seeks a certificate for the construction of a new Helix Substation.
