BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – There has finally been some much needed rain in Branch County over the last several days after a two week dry spell.
The Michigan State University Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm only recorded .07 of rain on Tuesday.
Since Friday, it has measured 85-hundreths of an inch including 67-hundreths on Sunday.
That helps but it is still a very dry month. Only nine-tenths of an inch of rain has been measured at that location for all of September.
The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor showed Branch County was abnormally dry due to the lack of rain since early August.
