Aubrey James Holt, 92, of Bronson passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, MI.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bronson United Methodist Church with Pastor David Elmore officiating. A private family burial of ashes will be held at Matteson Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born April 11, 1932 to Luther and Ernestine (James) Holt in Elmhurst, IL. Aubrey honorably served his country in the United States Airforce following his high school graduation. October 2, 1954 he married Shirley L. Beamish in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2017.
Upon returning home, Aubrey led a varied career with many of the local manufacturing plants until his retirement after many years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Bronson United Methodist Church, a member of the Colon American Legion, and was one of the founding members of the BronCo Flying Club.
Having over 50 years of experience flying, Aubrey loved to fly his float plane where many of his flights went hand in hand with his passion for the outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating but also appreciated a good game of cards, especially euchre.
Above all else, Aubrey cherished his family and will be dearly missed by all.
Aubrey leaves behind his children Louise Holt of Bronson, James (Kathi) Holt of Coldwater, Terry (Susan) Holt of Bronson; his grandchildren Shawnelle (Rigo) Gutierrez, Jennifer Cline; and his great grandchildren Dokoda Holt-Sharp, Kai Holt, Jaxson Gutierrez, Victoria Gutierrez, Robin Cline, and Shannon Cline.
In addition to his wife Shirley Holt, Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Marilyn Smoker and Marvin Holt, his granddaughter Jeri Linn Holt, and his great granddaughter Maria Gutierrez.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Bronson United Methodist Church.
