BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Modern technology helped McDonald’s restaurants across Michigan support local high school athletic programs on October, raising over $147,000 during the inaugural High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day.
This initiative allowed McDonald’s Owner/Operators to contribute 20 percent of all sales made through the McDonald’s app to designated high schools, benefiting 341 athletic programs statewide.
Each locally owned McDonald’s restaurant selected a high school in their community to donate 20 percent of all mobile app sales.
In Branch County, the schools selected were Coldwater, Bronson and Quincy. Each identified high school received at least $250.
This year marks the first time Michigan operators are hosted a High School Sports Digital Fundraiser. McDonald’s Owner/Operators in Ohio were the first to launch this type of fundraiser last year.
