(Reuters) – Dutch chipmaking parts supplier BE Semiconductor Industries (Besi) reported new orders for the third-quarter on Thursday that missed expectations, saying strong growth in computing end-user markets was partially offset by persisting weakness in automotive and Chinese end user markets.
The computing end-user markets include hybrid bonding, photonics and other artificial intelligence applications.
The chip assembly equipment maker’s order bookings fell 18% quarter on quarter to 151.8 million euros ($163.81 million) in the three months to September end, compared with an estimate of 177 million euros cited by Visible Alpha analysts.
