COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Memorial Day activities will be held throughout Branch County Monday.
The Coldwater American Legion will host a program at the Four Corners at 8:30 a.m. A parade through downtown Coldwater will follow the ceremony.
There will also be the Lost At Sea Dedication will take place again on the bridge near the Willows on the west side of Coldwater along with other ceremonies in the old and new portions of Oak Grove Cemetery.
The Gathering of Flags War Memorial ceremony on Flag Hill in the new portion of the cemetery will start at 10:30 a.m., which will be followed by a luncheon at the Coldwater American Legion.
The Bronson American Legion will be holding their annual Memorial Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at the Bronson Memorial Park. The service will then proceed to the Bronson Cemetery. Sheriff John Pollock will be the keynote speaker.
The Quincy American Legion Post will be hosting Quincy’s annual Memorial Day on Monday. The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Quincy American Legion. It will then head west on U.S. 12 to West Street.
The construction at the Broadway Street Bridge will force a few changes for the 48th annual Union City Memorial Day Parade and cemetery service Monday. The parade will start at the Union City High School parking lot at 10:30 a.m. It will go through downtown Union City and end at Riverside Cemetery.
The parade usually pauses at the Broadway Street Bridge to allow for a ceremony to honor the Navy and Coast Guard, but due to the bridge project, the parade route will detour down Park Street to West High Street to North Broadway. The service to honor the Navy and Coast Guard will instead be held immediately following the parade at Riverside Park.
