UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy won both the boys and girls team titles at the Big 8 Conference track meet hosted by Union City Thursday. Both Quincy squads wrapped up conference championships with their first place finishes.
The Quincy boys had 121 points followed by Concord with 89 and Union City with 81. The Quincy girls had 116 points followed by Reading with 96, Athens with 78 1/2 and Union City with 70.
Quincy winners in the boys meet were Nathan Nohr in the 1600, Michael Fisher in the 110 hurdles and the 400 relay team consisting of Bryce Ruhl, Devan Fisher, Luke Rufenacht and Ryan Gibson. Union City winners were Gavin Hooker in the 400, Elijah Harris in the long jump and the 800 relay team consisting of Chad Bruce, Harris, Hooker and Austin Mosher.
Quincy winners in the girls meet were Jessica Holcomb in the 100 and the 200, Emily Hollenbaugh in the high jump and the 400 relay team of Madelyn Allman, Mackenzie Horsfall, Holcomb and Claire Supianoski. Union City winners were Rachel Wing in the shot put and discus and Bracy Swift in the long jump.
The Bronson boys were 11th while the Bronson girls finished sixth at the BCS Conference meet hosted by Comstock on Thursday. Berrien Springs won both the boys and girls team titles.
Bronson had three first place finishes in the girls meet. Keona Salesman won the high jump, Madelyn Thompson won the discus and the Vikings finished first in the 3200. The winning team consisted of Xochitl Garcia, Meaghan Vaughan, Alanna Mayer and Salesman
