COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – They’re smart and kind and treat their peers with respect, in and out of the classroom, going above and beyond what is expected of them. That’s a description of those selected to be a Student of the Month at Legg Middle School in Coldwater.
The student recognition has been a joint effort of the school and the Early Bird Exchange Club of Coldwater for more than two decades.
The two most recent honorees are Mariam Thabet and Tate Hostetler, both 8th graders, with Thabett the LMS Student of the Month for April and Hostetler for May. They were introduced this week at Wednesday morning’s Exchange Club meeting by school counselor Julie Welch, who outlined the traits the teachers are looking for in the students when they nominate them for the awards.
Hostetler is the son of Robert and Justine Hosteter while Thabet is the daughter of Talal Al Abssi and Assima Abdulla
