COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Public Utilities customers had to deal with a citywide outage of GIG Fiber services for about five hours on Monday.
The outage had nothing to do with CBPU equipment. Utility Director Paul Jakubczak said a Microsoft issue led to Cloud based servers going off line.
Service went out around 2:30 p.m.. Just about everyone was back on line at around 7:30 p.m..
During the outage, businesses could not accept debit or credit cards. All transactions had to be done with cash only.
The outage knocked out the CBPU cameras on South Monroe Street, Bishop Avenue and at the Four Corners downtown. Live coverage of Monday’s Coldwater City Council meeting on the city’s You Tube channel was also unavailable.
