COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater school officials are denying accusations made by a parent during Monday night’s Coldwater School Board of Education meeting about what he feels is segregation concerning the transportation of students in the district.
James Williams stated his son was physically assaulted on a bus by an Arab girl and her friend.
Williams said the girl who attacked his son was punished. As he checked further into the incident, Williams says he was told by the transportation department there would be an “all Arabic girls bus next year”. He feels that should not happen in a public school district.
Coldwater School Transportation Director Holli Muckel says what Williams told the board Monday night about segregation is not true and that there is no written segregation policy in the district.
Coldwater Superintendent Terry Boguth also denied the accusations made by Williams.
