Dixie Ann Pawloski, 63, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at her home, under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer.
Per her wishes, Dixie will be cremated. The family will be hosting a celebration of life Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Quincy American Legion, 104 East Chicago Street, Quincy, MI 49082, with Phil Smathers officiating.
Dixie was born June 6, 1961 to Dick and Joanne (Ferguson) in Coldwater, Michigan. She graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1980.
During her high school years, she competed in her high school’s beauty competition, and she won first place. After graduation, Dixie went to beauty school.
In 2016, Dixie went to her uncle’s 60th birthday party, where she met Doug Pawloski and they have been together ever since. They were married February 22, 2020 in Coldwater.
Dixie operated and owned her beauty salon, Grand Reflections in Coldwater for 43 years. She always spoke highly of her staff and they were all thought of as a family. Her beauty salon had its own bowling team with pink bowling balls. Sometimes, Dixie would do hair for the cast at Tibbits Opera House and at Dutcher’s Funeral Home in Coldwater. Dixie also received a car from when she was a sales representative for Mary Kay.
Dixie enjoyed swimming, golfing, fishing, hunting deer, gardening, and clay shooting. She was a member of Vocational Industrial Club of America, Tri-State Bass Fishing Circuit, and the Auxiliary American Legion in Quincy. She was very much involved in community support and charities. Dixie was a major socialite. Her and Doug always hosted the family’s Christmas get-togethers.
In addition to her husband Doug, Dixie is survived by her children, Emma (Buddy) Bailey, Allie Welch, and Taylor Pawloski; stepchildren, Heather Weathon and CeCe Trestinriter; her grandchildren, Scarlett Gulick, Leonardo Bailey, Bentley Hessler, and Annabella Neiman; and her brother Jack (Pamela) Morrison.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and her son Derekson Pawloski.
