PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – First Lieutenant Jeremy Carlisle has been promoted to become the new commander of the Michigan State Police Fifth District for southwest Michigan.
Carlisle has been promoted to captain and succeeds Captain Michael Brown, who has recently retired.
Captain Carlisle oversees uniformed services for four MSP posts that cover Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties. Those include traffic patrols, criminal investigations, and emergency services.
Before being promoted, he was the first lieutenant and commander of the Niles Post and in his 20-year career he has also served in the Recruiting and Selection Section, as a detective on the a cold case team, and was a sergeant at the Paw Paw Post.
Captain Carlisle and his wife Aryn live in Cassopolis with their two daughters. He is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from Cleary University.
