QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy Police say a drowsy driver escaped serious injury Tuesday night in an accident on U.S. 12 east of Briggs Road. The crash happened shortly after 7:00 p.m.
Quincy Police Chief Scott Olney says the female driver from Hillsdale fell asleep at the wheel. Her vehicle then drifted off the road, flipped over and hit a tree.
She was transported by Life Care Ambulance to the Community Health Center of Branch County with what were later described as minor injuries.
The Quincy Fire Department also responded to the accident and one lane of U.S. 12 was briefly shut down following the crash.
Olney says no alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
The Quincy Village Police officer who investigated the accident was on scene for nearly two hours.
