BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In the last event of the season prior to the MHSAA Regionals, the Coldwater High School boys golf team came away tied for 4th place out of 17 teams at the Lakeview Spartan Invitational in Battle Creek Monday. Coldwater’s Cam Ruge fired a 3 under par 69 to capture Medalist honors.
Coldwater’s team score of 329 put them 19 strokes behind first place Portage Central as they had a team score of 310. Gull Lake was second at 311 followed by Mattawan at 321. Coldwater tied with Portage Northern at 329.
Adding to Coldwater’s scoring were Alec Keplinger with an 84, Kyle Herman and Austin Butler each had 88’s, Tanner Bowers had a 90 and Cam Bopp rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 96.
Coldwater will travel to the Bedford Valley Golf Course next Wednesday to compete in the MHSAA Regionals hosted by Richmond Gull Lake.
Bronson wrapped up their season as they competed in the MHSAA Division Four Girls Tennis Regionals this past Friday at Harper Creek and Pennfield.
Bronson finished the day tied for seventh with four points. Winning their opening round matches were Morgan Hoard at #4 singles along with the doubles teams of Ellary Russell and Grace Shortridge, Alexis McNees and Lizzy Smith and Heidi Neutz and Shebly Souva.
Quincy’s baseball and girls softball teams defeated Addison on Monday. The baseball team won 7-6 in eight innings while the softball team romped to a 12-1 win.
