BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Union City’s season to an end on the opening night of the M.H.S.A.A. Girls Volleyball Division Three district tournament on Monday night as they lost to Centreville three games to nothing by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.
The Chargers ended their season with a record of 15-22-1.
Centreville advanced to the district semifinal where they will face Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
White Pigeon plays Constantine in the first semifinal at 5:00 p.m.. The Chiefs advanced on Monday by defeating Schoolcraft three games to one by scores of 26-24, 17-25, 27-25, 25-19.
In the Division Three district tournament at Quincy, Hillsdale defeated Homer three games to two in an opening round match on Monday. The Hornets will face Jonesville in the second semifinal at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The host Quincy Orioles will take on Hanover-Horton in the first semifinal at 5:00 p.m..
In the Division Four district tournament at Athens, Tekonsha defeated Pansophia Academy three games to nothing by scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-18.
Pansophia ends their season with a record of 5-11.
Tekonsha advanced to the district semifinals where they will face Mendon at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Colon will face Burr Oak in the second semifinal after the Magi advanced on Monday with a three games to nothing win over Athens by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-17.
