COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a 15 win season and a district title for the Varsity team and a one loss campaign for the Junior Varsity squad, the Coldwater High School boys soccer teams capped off the year with their awards banquet Wednesday night.
Senior Dawood Gabry was named by his teammates as Most Valuable Player for the Varsity team. He and junior goalkeeper Franky Ramos were also named All State Honorable Mention by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association, as well as All Region and All District.
Others named All District were Austin Accardi, Samuel Pernia, Liam Clark, Essam Ahmed, and Nasser Abdullah.
Senior Asher VanDellen was named Academic All State by the association.
Gabry, Ramos, and Pernia were named Interstate 8 All Conference, while Austin Accardi and Liam Clark were All Conference Honorable Mention.
Accardi, Clark, Juan Pablo and Sebastian Ocampo, Pernia, and VanDellen were selected Interstate 8 Academic All Conference.
In other team selected awards, Pernia was named Hardest Worker and Best Defensive Player, Gabry was Rookie of the Year and Best Offensive Player, Yaseen Abdulla and VanDellen were selected Most Improved, and Accardi received The Cardinal Way Coach’s Award.
Amer Ahmed was selected by his teammates as Most Valuable Player for the Junior Varsity team.
