COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their work session Thursday to bring three staffing requests forward to their regular meeting next week.
Branch County Drain Commissioner Michael Hard is requesting the creation of a new non-union Assistant Plant Operator in Training for the Department of Public Works. He wants the person to start immediately since the current staff is shorthanded as they head to the busy summer months.
Commissioners also brought forward a request from Prosecutor Ralph Kimble to hire a permanent office clerk to fill an open position which was created by a recent termination. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Val White said they are behind taking care of warrants and other paperwork.
In addition, a Commission on Aging request to fill a part time aide position was brought forward to Tuesday. Executive Director Amy Duff said the request is being made to help meet the demand for in home services. In home services are provided for eligible Branch County residents. The position would pay just over $10 a hour for between 20 and 29 hours a week.
