COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department has announced that three deputies from their Corrections Division have graduated from the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Corrections Academy.
Deputies Wyatt Hoffman, Nolan Thomas and Hunter Munson graduated from the four week academy last Friday.
The academy offers a comprehensive, interactive instruction program in various disciplines.
Training topics include report writing, custody and security. It also covers prisoner behavior, defensive tactics, ethics, first aid and interpersonal communications.
The academy is certified by the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council.
