SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 70-year-old man was burned Friday morning in a propane explosion.
It happened just before 7:00 a.m. at a residence on Blossom Road west of Ralston Road.
Reports indicate the unidentified man suffered burns to his face, hands and head in the blast as he tried to light a propane heater.
The explosion was apparently caused by a build up of gas due to a leak. The burn victim was transported to an unknown hospital by LifeCare Ambulance.
Fire departments from Sherwood and Athens Townships along with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
