Thomas W. Lennard, 94, an avid hunter, passed away appropriately on opening day of deer season, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, with a luncheon following the service.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service Saturday November 23.
Tom was born March 30, 1930 in Adrian, MI to George E. & Gladys (Wilbur) Lennard. He married Norma J. Shandley June 2, 1950 in Adrian. She preceded him in death March 16, 2008.
Tom graduated from Adrian College in 1951 with a BS degree in chemistry. He worked in quality control for Climax Corporation in Coldwater for 31 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Lennard was a member of the Coldwater Elks, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Safari Club International. He was a life member of the Branch Co. Sportsman’s Club where he served as an officer, board member, and was instrumental in the acquisition and development of the present club site.
In earlier years, Tom had been active in Little League serving as a coach, board member and as the chief umpire. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter both nationally and internationally including Alaska, Canada, Africa, and New Zealand.
Tom enjoyed traveling and fishing on the Great Lakes in his boats Play Mate II and Trout Scout.
Tom is survived by his daughter Kristine (David) Cook, his son Scott (Patti) Lennard, his grandchildren Heather (Seth) Story, Jason (Maggie Tu) Cook, Kelly Lennard and Jacob Lennard and his great grandchildren Tyson Lennard and Olivia Story, and many loving family members and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma, and his half-brother Jack Lennard.
