Arlene B. Hurley, 97, of Allen passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
Private family graveside services will be held at Allen Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born February 5, 1927, in Hillsdale to Harold and Marguerite (Brakefield) Crapo. She married Cyrelle “Sam” Lawton and he preceded her in death.
Late in life, she was reunited with and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, James Hurley. They had over 10 years together, sharing laughs throughout their 80’s before his passing.
Arlene had a love for card games, especially rummy, and could beat most anyone. Her grandchildren will remember her as a BINGO master. She had an amazing sense of humor and quick wit that will be missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Charles) Markley and Jacie Lawton, both of Coldwater; grandchildren, Kari Roberts, Terri Lewis, Daniel (Ann) Markley, Jennifer Smith and Troy Patton; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Erik, Samuel, Caleb, Sophia, Tanner, Brennan, Cody, Brooklyn and Clayton; and special caregiver, Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Lawton and James Hurley; parents, Harold and Marguerite Crapo; son, Danny Lawton; and siblings, Merton, Norene, Kathy, Nancy and Duane.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Branch County.
