BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan D.N.R. reports that as of midday Monday, a total of 1,117 deer have been harvested in Branch County since the firearms deer hunting season opened last Friday morning.
The total includes 809 antlered deer and 308 that were antlerless.
Hillsdale County has the third highest total of harvested deer in the state so far with 1,458. Sanilac County (2,078) and Newaygo County (1,494) are the top two.
Calhoun County has reported 1,109 harvested deer while only 406 have been harvested in St. Joseph County.
Over 62,000 deer have been harvested during firearms season which will run until November 30.
