COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Sunshine and warm temperatures brought out a record number of classic cars and motorcycles on the opening day Saturday of the 30th Annual Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show.
Organizers say 1,290 cars and motorcyles came through the gate and registered by mid-afternoon Saturday. Hundreds of classic vehicles also participated in the annual Car Cruise through Coldwater late Saturday afternoon.
There are no spectator attendance numbers available yet, but at one point Saturday the incoming traffic was so heavy at the entrance gate that the line of cars was backed up eastward on Garfield Road, and went all the way to the north on Sprague Street to beyond Sauk Drive.
58th District State Representative Eric Leutheuser presented members of the Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show Committee with a Special Tribute proclamation, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the event.
The show continues through Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Branch County Fairgrounds in Coldwater.
