BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Coldwater earned some Branch County bragging rights Thursday as they swept Bronson 6-1 and 10-0. Bronson was seventh in Division Three this week by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
First game winning pitcher Collin Torrey struck out four and shut down the Vikings on six hits after allowing a first inning run. Bryce Barringer had two hits and two RBI’s for the Cardinals. Bronson starter Thadd Herman struck out five in six innings of work.
Three Coldwater pitchers combined on a three hitter in the nightcap. Lucas Santure was credited with the win and helped his own cause with three RBI’s as the Cardinals collected 11 hits. Mitchell Duda had two RBI’s. Santure, Duda and Brent Smoker all had two hits.
Coldwater is now 13-13 while Bronson’s record drops to 18-6.
