BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings boys basketball team opened their season Tuesday night with a 66-59 victory over Battle Creek St. Philip in a rugged and sloppy contest on the Vikings home court.
The two teams combined for 41 fouls as three players fouled out.
Bronson jumped out to a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. The Vikings built the margin to 28-16 before the Tigers went on a 15-2 spurt to grab a 31-30 lead.
Bronson scored the last two buckets of the half to take a 34-31 halftime lead. Bronson led 48-42 after three quarters and then held off the Tigers with a 18-17 in the final stanza.
Bronson’s Kam Brackett led all scorers with 30 points scoring 15 in each half. Spencer Losinski and Zeb Olson both seven points for the Vikings.
Jackson Dzwik led the Tigers with 21 points.
Bronson also won the J.V. game 64-20.
