COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school tennis, Coldwater defeated Harper Creek 6-2 Wednesday in an Interstate 8 match as their overall record improved to 10-5-1. Coldwater got points from Emma Grife, Meredith Grife and Merlyn Johnson in the singles matches. They also got points from their doubles teams of Allison Eastmead and Emily Foulk, Gabby Boston and Loveleen Lalia and Payton Molnar and Melissa Vozar.
The Cardinals are in fourth place in the I-8 heading into the conference meet on Friday which will be conducted at two sites. The doubles teams will be at Parma Western with the singles matches at Marshall.
Girls Soccer—
Jackson Lumen Christi 4, Coldwater 0
Coldwater remained winless in the Interstate 8 Conference with a 4-0 loss at Jackson Lumen Christi Wednesday. The loss dropped their record to 0-4-2 in conference play, and 3-7-3 overall.
Nadia Kiersey made 11 saves in goal against the Titans, who are ranked 20th this week in the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Division 4 poll. The Lady Cardinals are off now until next Wednesday when they play at Hastings.
The Coldwater JV team lost to Lumen Christi 8-0. Emily Fagen made 11 saves in goal. The JV team will play at the Adrian Invitational Saturday.
