BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles boys varsity basketball team won their first game of the season on Monday night as they defeated Camden-Frontier 68-42.
It was also the first victory for Connor Aemisegger as the Orioles varsity basketball coach.
Brandon Miner led a balanced Quincy attack with 14 points while Alex Dunn had nine points. Ryan Kempter and Alex Barry both scored eight points.
The Orioles are now 1-1 and will open Big 8 Conference play on Friday against Stockbridge.
Quincy also won the J.V. game 59-16 as they improved to 2-0. Carson and Garrett Haylett each scored 11 points.
In other boys basketball action on Monday, Union City improved to 2-0 with a 56-49 win over Mendon. The Chargers built a 36-16 halftime lead and held off a comeback by the Hornets in the second half.
