COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater has announced that construction work at Waterworks Park is now complete and you’ll be able to enjoy the park once again starting on Monday.
The renovation work started in August after the conclusion of the Branch County Fair.
The Coldwater City Council approved Parrish Excavating’s low bid of $488,297 during their March 11, 2024 meeting. The initial engineering was estimated at $600,000.
The City and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities got a couple of grants during the past two years to assist in funding the project.
The renovations included the development of two new asphalt parking areas, new asphalt walking/bike paths and a new grass youth soccer field.
City Manager Keith Baker felt the opportunity to improve the City’s primary open space in the First Ward and southeast corner of the city would greatly benefit the adjacent neighborhood and community as a whole.

Looks great and a nice place to walk.
